To apply to the KU Doctor of Physical Therapy program, students must complete the online application through the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS) at http://www.ptcas.org. All required materials are submitted directly this service, and PTCAS will forward all application materials to your designated programs.

Once the department receives the completed PTCAS application, the applicant will receive an email prompting verification of the KU Medical Center application and payment of the $60.00 supplemental KU fee.

For accepted students without transcripts available at the time of application, final official transcripts must be sent to the Office of the Registrar at the end of the semester in which the undergraduate degree was achieved.

PTCAS Early Decision

KU participates in the PTCAS Early Decision program. This is a binding option for applicants who have selected a physical therapy degree program as their first choice and have committed to enroll in that program if accepted. Under the Early Decision guidelines, students may only apply to one academic institution until a decision on the application has been made.

The Early Decision application deadline is August 15.  In addition to completing the PTCAS application, all official U.S. transcripts, fees, etc. must be submitted by this deadline. Note: Early Decision applicants MUST take the GRE and request scores no later than July 31. If application materials arrive after August 15, PTCAS will automatically change the application from early decision to regular status.
